Review (from Sitting Ovation): Swirling dub-techno and finely-tuned beats are what makes the new Dubism EP from Upwellings so atention-grabbingly beautiful. Following on from DJ Axs’s Moment to Dub EP on ZeECc, the Dubism EP continues with what you might expect from the French label. Well crafted, deep and altogether rather lovely dub-techno which is most definately worth your cash. If you’re a fan of the likes of Quantec, Leo Cavallo, or perhaps more ambient stuff like Echospace/Deepchord or bvdub - then I expect there’ll be plenty on offer here for you to enjoy. Upwellings seems to be gathering a decent momentum too, with releases on deepindub.org, Schall-Netlabel and Klique already. Upwellings shows here that he knowns how to perfectly mix minimal and dub elements with 4 tracks full of deep bass, of clicks and cracks, of refined and sensual harmony. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
